Corrupted my WP site attempted to publish as html. Need Help!

I have a site I originally publish using WP and attempted to overlay by simply FTP'ing to the public_html directory. Of course this didn't work.

How can I fix it so that the site can be published with Kompozer?

When you try to hit your website is the index file of WP served? If yes you should delete the old index.php and the site should work in my point of view.

I did what you said and used FileZilla to drag and drop everything again and that did it. Thanks again.
