Default filezilla problems? FTP for my WP admin?

new to using filezilla, however, the main reason is that i was told to go here and do some changing to my WP. my problem is that i cannot access my wordpress admin login what so ever. my site domain is coming up blank. yes, a completely white blank page whenever someone goes to my website, even myself. i accidentally edited something i shouldnt have in themes.php and when i tried to fix it, for some reason it went blank and is like this at this point. my question is, what do i do here in filezilla to change this so i can log back into my site on WP?
please, someone, i am very desperate for help here...

email addy is ulji @ hotmail . com or respond here as i will keep this screen on and update it frequentlly.
my site is davidalees . com (known as blogging university ) listed in a link form below this::: if you click on it, you will see what i am talking about.

thnk youanyone who can help me

Usually, if you edit any of the WP file and if something went wrong, it would show an error when you load the site. My suggestion would be to copy the wp-content folder and database (if any) to your hard drive and install WP again.

FTPing to your site doesn't have anythign to do with wordpress. its an entirely different way of accessing yoru files. You just need the username and password your host supplied you for password and username. the backinup up of your ddatabase and doing another install is not a bad idea but you don't have access yet to do that backup. YOu will still need username and password to get to your host's control panel.

You have a few posts here on this subject I have tried to assist you on but you are going to need hands on help with this to get your site back up if you are new to all this ftp and database stuff. If you need the help then I can assist as long as things are not screwed up too badly.

Have you tried checking the settings on your end? Maybe your database admin can repost the content or do you have a backup for cases like this? Try to contact your hosting provider because they may be able to help you get this problem fixed.

Can you re-download your theme and just upload the files you edited?

I've Pmed you . You can send the FTP logins to me here or my email address. I do have one small term if I take the responsibility of logging into your server to fix this. I think its pretty reasonable.

I think you should upload the theme again. and in order to change the wp-admin password, you can go to PhpMyadmin of that wordpress database. => wp_users => edin the row in question => select the function MD5 => Enter the password in plain text and save the record.

Even if he had access to phpmyadmin I would recommend against it. He was working with a file and needs to replace that . Playing with the database now could cause him to lose data. First order of business is to replace the files he was working with. I'm working with him so I will move down the checkpoints after we get that squared away.
