What is your favorite source code editor? I`m using Notepad++ and I`m quite happy with it. I would like to know which source code editors other warriors use. Thanks for sharing |

| Screem is a pretty decent LINUX editor. Screem HTML/XML Editor - Features On the Windows Platform I like PS Pad, it has a lot of similarities to Notepad++ editor PSPad - freeware HTML editor, PHP editor, XHTML, JavaScript, ASP, Perl, C, HEX editor I also have used UltraEdit a lot although it's been a while since I upgraded it. Another vote for NotePad++. I also use DreamWeaver at work, which is pretty awesome but a little too expensive given the range of features available in free solutions. I tried jEdit for a while, but I found it a little clunky and difficult to use. Si |

form me it depends on what i am doing. If it is ASP.NET then it is Visual Studio 2008 otherwise i use Dreamweaver CS4. I will use the good ol' faithful Notepad sometimes as well for the quick edits. |

Thanks for all your replies, folks. I`m glad that many warriors use Notepad++ too. And also sorry that Mac version is not developed yet. Really awesome free tool. |

I use UltraEditor because it is very user-friendly. they offer a 60 day trial and I reinstall windows monthly so I don`t have to buy the license.

Thanks for all the suggestions. SciTE looks really nice and simple, I'll probably be using that. Kate looked pretty good too.

Notepad ++ only to check code. Otherwise the built-in WinSCP editor. Haha just like notepad, only better :] --m4rx |
