Default I have Installed WordPress Locally. Is this the next Step?

I just installed WordPress locally on my mac by following the instructions here and it said I was successful! Now I want to make it "Live" and linked to my website.
Do I just have to rename the directory (folder) to "Blog" and upload it to the root folder of my website. Is that's all that is needed to have it online?
Thanks
(These Instructions are from the WordPress Website)
• If you want to have your WordPress installation in its own subdirectory on your web site (e.g. example*com/blog/), rename the directory wordpress (rename the folder named "wordpress" to blog) to the name you'd like the subdirectory to have and move or upload it to your web server. For example if you want the WordPress installation in a subdirectory called "blog", you should rename the directory called "wordpress" to "blog" and upload it to the root directory of your web server.

You are going to have to do a new WP install on a hosting accounts server. If there is no content or very little on that local install it doesn't make sense to go through the hassle of moving it. You can use the files to upload WP to the hosting account but the settings and content are not held there but in the database. Its not like uploading a static site created with an HTML editor.

I would create the directory, very easy with a web host that supports fantastico. Then export all the content on my local site by going tools >> export >> download export file.

Then importing the content on my live site by going tools >> import >> wordpress >> choose file >> upload file.

You should have all the content that was on your localhost.

Good luck buddy
