PHP vs. ColdFusion

Can anyone lay out the pros and cons of PHP usage verses ColdFusion for me?

Aside from the fact that coldfusion is awful, it also has huge licensing fee's.

Why bother paying for something like that when PHP is available for free and does a pretty good job of anything you throw at it?
