Need help for my new forum!

I am hopping that someone would be able to help me. I started my own forum and I downloaded the script that I like and did the logo etc. But I am having a problem with installing the mods. Without them the forum looks empty and boring. Can someone help me with that? I tried myself and I messed it up. Now I need to find someone who can help me fix it and install mods...

All ideas are welcome to what fun forum should have please help! I really appreciate.

If you're asking for help with the site you can post the URL. Lots of people have posted here asking for comments and criticisms of their new site. As you've asked "All ideas are welcome to what fun forum should have please help!" it would be easier to answer and offer suggestions if we can see what the forum is about.

With your low post count you may have to post in a cryptic format like: myforum [dot] com as you may not be able to post a link yet.

What you mean proper version? Is the one that I have is no good? Or you mean proper mod version? Sorry for silly questions I am just really new in there

What phpBB version is you using...?
I guess it the latest: 3.0.6

Mods are bits PHP-code and HTML you install to extend/change the functionality of the board.
What is you want to improve or change...?

Yes I am using the latest one thats right. Well I would like to install an seo mod so it would be seo friendly and youtube mod so people could upload the links and something that would give people like ranking depending on how many posts they post and also so they could write something underneath there avatar like you can do here and many more I guess

OK, just remember that when version 3.0.7 is released,
you need to watch out so you don't upload the new set of files
and overwrite the old files with the changes in them.
You need to check the files and re edit them before you upload them.
The more mods you have, the more work.
That's a problem with phpBB.
Mods is directly into the code and not as separate files.
That's why Wordpress and Joomla has better built systems for plugins.

Thank you HomeBizNizz! That is really helpful! So do you suggest that I should move everything into a different script type? I just want something that is easy to manage. I still don't understand much about all the permissions and its bad cause it is really important...

No, Vbulletin is even worse.
As far as I know thr forum templates is stored in the database.
And it makes it harder then you try to edit them through the admin backend in VB.
Correct me if I wrong.

Vbulletin cost 180 bucks.

Yes it cost money but everywhere I looked it said it was like most popular... But I guess I need the one that is most simple for me Maybe I will stick to the one I have and look for a new style but I will still need to deal with mods and I have no clue on it...
