Best PHP plugin for Joomla

I am not sure how many warriors actual use Joomla. I tend to think that Wordpress is more widely used but I have the following issue.

I own a news website: www.roundnews.com

I want to introduce an area for press release submissions for visitors that do not have an account. I am wondering what php code to use or what plugin. Basically it needs to add the submitted press release in draft state posted under an existing user. So I can publish the pressrelease or deleted it.

Any ideas ?

P.S.: My website is very new and I have a lot to work on it. I would appreciate a constructive remark that would help me improve the site.

Due to the popularity of Wordpress, Joomla becomes less and less popular. You would probably ask this kind of question on a Joomla community forum.

Hi,

If you don't want them to create an account first (which would be better IMHO), then use a good contact form component (not the default one it's really not good). You'll receive the articles by e-mail and you'll be able t odecide which ones to publish or not.

See Home - Joomla! Extensions Directory and do an advanced search, select only the non-commercial extensions that match your version of Joomla. Pick a contact component that features a captcha.

This Plugin allows you to create and add custom PHP, HTML, JS and CSS to the module positions. You don't need to use any special tags or syntax, just the regular PHP tags embedded in HTML or by its own. This way you can code a whole module without having to package it up for Joomla. Based on mod_html.

Regarding the submit form, chronoforms or rsforms allows you to create submissions in and easy way.

I confirm what DigitalDanny said, after years of building websites with Joomla! I now stick with ChronoForms for my contact forms. It takes a little bit of time to get used to it, but once you do, it's very powerful.
