authors of comments now anonymous after site import

I imported a former Blogger site into WordPress and it all worked out great, except for the previous comments. None of the names of the commentators show up now. They just all say "anonymous" for the author name.

Is there any way to re-import the original comments, showing the author names? Is this worthwhile doing? Also, will it impact SEO negatively at all?

Thanks guys!

Mike

Which procedure have you used for importing the content? Please, provide more detailed info about it.

About reimporting, yes, you can always start over again. It will be worthwhile depending of the importance you give to it.

It won't affect seo in any way.

      Hi Luis:

Thanks for reaching out. I actually had someone help me import the content and I believe he used a plugin, "Blogger Importer", but I'm not sure. I don't want to redo all this. I'd say I could manually add the names of the commentators instead, right? Thanks for your help!

    Ok Mike, no problem.

Manually updating the comments would be an option.

How many comments are we talking about?

Where do you have your wordpress hosted? Do you have an admin panel installed or eventually, access to the database?

    Best,
    Luis

I still have access to the old Blogger site, so I can get the info from there. It'll be a few hundred comments, but I can get it done one of these days soon.

      Thanks Luis!

I am guessing you had rel='nofollow' all over your comment links in your blogger (well you should). It should impact search ranking but some of your regular site commentators will not like it.

Just make a announcement post that you have switched to wordpress and unfortunely you are losing the previous comments or facing problems with it.
