Hi kmanev074,

Im also an Software Developer (full-time) in the area of Enterprise Applications with .NET framework.

The best ideas you can get for new software projects is asking yourself:

"What is missing out there and could help a lot of people?"

Talk with your friends, go to some forums, etc. to get new application ideas... They want something that can this and that and so on... but it does not exist. (Thats actually the part where you should start to implement the idea)

The best way to find a product to make is to first become your target audience. That is, if you want to make software for IM'ers, then become an IM'er. From there you can find inefficiencies and shortcuts that you can fix or automate via some software program. Then market that software.

How about a Windows Phone app for movers?

It could contain a moving checklist, inventory of items moved and information on setting up services at the new location.

I've been wanting to do this myself but haven't had the time.

I think coming up with something completely new is almost impossible. There is a software for pretty much anything you can think of.

My approach is that I work on something that I like, something that I actually need and try to make it really good, because I am obviously very interested in it. I don't even do any research or competitive analysis.

It doesn't have to be better. My CMS is not as good as WP but it does what I need it to do.
Also I can build my own modules, for instance rss/xml feed comsuming to show affilate products.

Are you looking for something to sell or a tool that will help you with IM?

I'd like a software that allows me to search the 3 main search engs. using different proxies for each keyword I enter.

Here's how it would work.

I'd enter one keyword related to my domain and search for my domain in the SE's. After I locate my domain I will enter my website and stay there a little while.

Then I'd do it again using a different ip. This would allow me to make my site more popular.

I'd use the same keyword but search using different proxies so it would look like searches were coming from different areas. Preferably my own country because I only ship in USA.

If you can automate this so it will do it automatically over and over using different ip's, keywords, websites, SE's, it would be even better.

I think it would be even better if it was done via webserver.

  To be honest, I don't know much about the search engs.
  
  They change so much I can't figure them out.
  
  I thought proxies changed ip addresses. How would they know?
