Keyword research tools and niches

Hi,

a keyword research tool shows you how often a keyword has been searched, it shows similar keywords and long tail keywords.

I wonder if it is possible to find exactly what people are searching for (long tail) including the information if there are a lot of competitors for this keyword and the cpc of adwords. So basically a niche finder but for long tail keywords.

It would be great to have a tool where you enter a category "cars" and the tool suggests you to write about topics like "cheapest car repair service in new york" because this topic has a high search volume and low competitors and a high google cpc.

If this not already exists I would try to develop such a tool but:
How do keyword tools and niche finders get their data?

    There's a few. Long Tail Pro, Market Samurai (still functional?) BuzzSumo and others

    Most of them grab their data from Google.

      Do you know how they do it? Is there an API for that or do they scrape the keyword suggestions?

    Yeah. Both. Use an API for the keywords and search volumes, scraping and APIs through different services for the competitive analysis.
