How hackable is a WP blog?

Today I noticed something strange - I was thinking about playing with yahoo pipes to mash my RSS feeds together from a couple of blogs when I noticed two of my feeds not working. While I was discussing the issue at WP.org forum, one of the feeds mysteriously reappeared for apparently no reason. My first thought (perhaps a little paranoid) was that someone had been tampering with my site. Now the feed is working fine for one of the blogs but the other is still completely non-existant (comes up with '404 not found'). Its posts have been absent from my feeds since the 7th (found this out from my feedburner feed of the same site - its now the ninth here today).

Now I was hoping someone could tell me, where has my feed gone? And why did one feed just reappear out of the blue? How is it possible for a feed not to display, but have the site work fine? Is it possible to hack WP or delete a part of WP to kill a feed?

Your ideas and suggestions to any or all of these questions would really be appreciated.

Is your wordpress version up to date ?

Are your plugins up to date ?

Those are the 2 ways that someone can easily get into a WordPress blog.

Ok, I have no clue what the problem could be.

I see from a google search others have had the same problem, yet nobody is giving any answers.

Good luck finding a solution, sorry I could not be of help.

Use a .htaccess file with a htpassword
in your wp-admin folder or with IP-deny.
