As the title says:
Which CMS has the best collection of extra functionality
to offer then you want to expand your CMS.

I like Joomla and Wordpress so far.
A great addition with plugins avaliable.

Any other CMS'es that can beat J! & WP...? :p

6 months ago I would have said to use Joomla, but WP has started to become more widely used as a CMS. I think as far as extensions go, Joomla wins, but WP deserves a hard look.

Wp and joomla are very good CMS. Joola had a more general site look while WP has a more blog like apprerance. Both cann me very effectively used to build sites.

BUT joomls is difficult to use compared to Drupal. Drupal is the best option for static sites for starters.

      I disagree.
Drupal isn't to easy to use either. :p

By using the page widget and not the blogs widgets
you can use WP to build a great site.

    Hello.........

Nice topic. I have also installed many joomla plugins. These plugins are very reliable to use.

      What can you recommend within:
      - Downloads (DOCman, FileCabinet, Remository, Phoca Download, VFM File Repository, RokDownloads)
      - Imagegallery (JoomGallery, Phoca Gallery,
      - Directories (AlphaContent, A-Z Content List, Phoca Documentation, SOBI 2)
      - Forum (Agora, ccBoard, Fireboard, Frenzy! Bulletin Board, Joo!BB - Joomla! Bulletin Board, Kunena Forum, Ninjaboard, Simplest Forum)

These above components I struggle how to choose.
I look for CSS themability and simple use.
Suggestions on what to try first...? :p

I personally think Wordpress is the way most people are going. I know a guy who is an expert in the Wordpress platform. its incredible some of the stuff he can do - takes it far beyond just blogging.

Also done some work with Drupal, was 'OK' but I wasn't that impressed. It felt a little like something I'd have liked/used a few years back, maybe 2003 ish.

I agree Eddie, Wordpress is the way to go right now in terms of search engine compatibility. Wordpress is very Google friendly.

I think once people get to know and understand some of the more advanced capabilities of Wordpress, other than it being just Blogging software, they will begin to use it.

For me Wordpress is the best. Joomla comes in second. I have seen a couple of posts on other forums that Drupal is better than Joomla. Will have to give it a try.

I had only used Wordpress and been quite comfortable with it.

Maybe I can look at Joomla.

If it's only text with pix, use WP.
    Don't over do things.

KISS = Keep it simple, stupid.
No need to get too advanced.
