mysterious nofollow in my blog

So I have been through every php file I have both in the Wordpress editor and host file manager and have done everything I can do to change the meta robots to follow all.

But when you look at the view source from the browser, there is my follow all meta and then a little farther down hidden in the rel links is another meta robots with nofollow.

Don't understand how this can happen unless there is some sort of code that is placing it there but is invisible to me when I edit.

Am I going crazy or what?

About to dump the whole thing and look for another blog platform.

Thanks

Matt

    Hi Matt!

The "nofollow" tag might be coming from a default setting from one of the plugins that you install. Check the settings of the plugins as well. If you can post the link to your blog here, we might be able to see where it is coming from.

When you view you will see the first meta robots follow all but then nestled among the rel links a little further down you will another meta robots nofollow

If you are talking about this line:

      PHP Code:
      <meta name='robots' content='noindex,nofollow' />
In your Wordpress Control Panel, go to Settings > Privacy and make sure it's set to 'I would like my blog to be visible to everyone, including search engines (like Google, Sphere, Technorati) and archivers'

    Chris,

I just found that. Thank you.

Sometimes the obvious is too simple

Still don't know why they would make the "private" button the default. I would think that the number of bloggers who do want to be followed outnumber those that do not.

    Thank you very much.
