Client paid but not responding!!!???

Hi,

What does it mean when a client pay you but then he doesn't respond to your emails?

I am a freelancer, a client hired me to make him a website, he paid me in advance, he even tipped me before I do any kind of work, just for helping him with a few tasks, and consulting him for the best solutions.

However I have been dealing with clients for 3 years as a freelancer yet this is the kindest but strangest client I have had in all the 3 years, he was super nice, generous and appreciative yet all of sudden he is not responding which sounds kind of "rude" in spite of his kindness and generosity.

I seen him online and he read all my messages yet he is not responding to me at all, I sent him like 5 emails already, telling him to please look at the work I have done and if he has any comments to perfect everything. No Luck he is not responding as for payment I am not worried since I already got paid, but I am just wondering Why is he not responding?

Could it be he is disappointed, could it be he is not in a good mood I don't know!!

Note: he is autistic though.

    There's your answer.
Just give it time. He already paid you so theres nothing to worry, i believe you just have a problem with closure. Also, dont stop contacting him.

Not every client wants a running dialogue with freelancers. To say this person paid in advance - provided a bonus - and then say he's "rude" not to answer you doesn't sound right to me.

Why are you being demanding of your client? If he hasn't commented - maybe he's pleased with what you showed him and has nothing more to add. This might be quite normal for someone on the autism spectrum.

You've been paid for the work. Complete the project and turn the site over to him or install or deliver in whatever way was agreed on. I would not keep trying to force a response from him.

Enjoy working for a good client who pays well!

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

I would just back off and let him know that you are waiting for feedback from him and let him reach out to you when he is ready. Just make sure he knows you are waiting on him.

What doesn't sound right to you? I did not say he is rude, I said this sounds "kind of rude in spite of his kindness". I still insist he is a kind, generous and appreciative man.

I also wish all clients are like him though, however I do really care about my clients.

I was kind of worried maybe that when he mentioned autism to me I did not say that I am sorry to hear that, I just didn't know what to say, and I kept talking about what we were talking about like he didn't mention anything I don't know if this sounded rude from my side, and I didn't say anything because I thought maybe if I tell him I am sorry or something like that it might not make him feel well like if autism was a serious thing.

Anyways thank you all for your replies, I think I will back off like ktz16 said and just wait for his reply.

This has happened to me, turns out every email I sent was in their spam folder. Best to email them from a brand new email account to make sure he gets it. Also try to reach out in different ways, I had to track a customer down on twitter cuz they dont check their paypal email, fb or gplus.

All you can do is try to contact him, as you have, then the ball is in his court. If you can reach him via other avenues, try that also of course.

I had a guy once a long time ago give me $3000 for a TV he wanted me to keep in storage for him until he picked it up. Five years went by, the TV sat there, and he never came. Things like this happen sometimes. I wouldn't waste any more thought on it.

    I had similar situation.
Although my client was now autistic, he also paid me and didn't ask after the work was finished.
It lasted for a month or even more and after my numerous messages he just gave another work and didn't give any feedback about the previous one.

I'm working with this client on 4th project at the moment and it's always the same story - he gives feedback only if something is wrong and never writes that he likes the work and everything is okay.
So just be patient. Each person is unique and react differently.
You did everything in your power, so just relax and maybe one day he'll offer you another job.

    Good luck
