I don't think we'll see that many changes in web design in 2016 compared to 2015. I do think that in the next couple of years we'll see another big shift and custom design will come into play more again like how it was 10 years ago (now everything looks the same). I would say 2016 will continue to be a year of lots of template looking sites (using the newer responsive templates that most new sites are using).

  • I think this might help:
    • Make sure whatever you develop is web responsive
    • Try to use the material design, which is also called as a flat design (Usually seen with Apple and Microsoft websites and presentation)
    • Typography is the queen of the website. Get right fonts to ensure it
    • Parallax Scrolling
    • Content focused design
    • Use icons over long texts as they are easier to understand
    • Personalized UX (By observing browsing habits of people with the help of browser cookies)
    • Follow information hierarchy and intuitive organized design
    • Build interactive stories on the website you design for a better user engagement

  • Hi.

Design trends often span several years (even decades for some types of design), but Web design is a quickly moving and changing industry where trends come and go quite often.

We're still working with some of those trends now: responsive web design, flat design, performance and speed, and perfecting the user experience. However, what are some of the new and emerging trends we can expect to see in 2016?

Let's look through some of the trends we can expect to see more of this year.

1: Still experimenting with navigations and menus
2: To scroll or not to scroll
3: Designing in modules and components instead of entire pages
4: Design continues to flatten out
    5: Material design takes off
6: Ditching the stock elements for something better
7: Forms and inputs go full-screen
    8: Rich but subtle animations
9: Users are caring more about how a site functions than looks
10: Designers move toward designing in the browser

    Thanks.
