Looking For A Countdown Timer

Hi,

currently looking for a countdown timer that works with cookies (so the first time someone visits the page he will get cookies and then the countdown timer starts from there)..

Looking for something free if possible, but payed would also be fine....

BUT it has to NOT be a wordpress plugin. I am looking for a html code that I can manually add to my pages using a web editor...

Thanks a ton!

I have used these HTML timers. I have attached the custom js and index files zipped. Let me know if they work. You just have to set the date to GMT time, as I recall, to your time zone wherever you are. I used to have the readme txt, but naturally I can't find it!

    Hi,
Interesting question - why use a countdown timer at all - as savvy buyers see through this so called scarcity tactic big time. As the saying goes, ignore the timer as when you visit the page tomorrow the offer will still be there!!!

Hence, from my erstwhile perspective - don't bother, waste time or money because buyers no longer view the timer as in the past and you could potentiallyl detract from your reputation, offer and brand by having a timer that simply keeps on keeps on counting down.

The only rationale I even remotely suggest you use a timer if you're going to be a person of your word and withdraw the offer once the countdown has finished.

Anyway this is my 2 cents worth.

    Hope it assists

On my site it's for real, you have 2 hours to get a bonus, after that it's gone and you're not getting it back under the same account.

Or if you run an email promotion - something discounted til X time. You buy now or you lose out. The next time you run a promotion, your customer base knows, they either buy it now or wait and hopes it comes around again.

Say you sell precious metals, a dealer will run a special for X dollars over Gold Spot. The deal is good till the gold market opens sunday night.

The countdown is on, you either buy it, or you lose out. Depending on what direction gold trades the next day. Very common in the precious metals arena.
