If you could wish for a WordPress plugin, what would it be?

Hi,

I love to build WordPress plugins and now I want to build and sell some through my website. I have a lot of ideas myself, but you should always ask your customer first, right?

So if you could wish for a cool WordPress plugin (that I should code and offer here), what would it be? Please only post a very short description (max 2 sentences) and how much you would pay for that. It should start with: I would pay $xx for a premium WordPress plugin, that...

Like so:
  • I would pay $10 for a premium WordPress plugin, that automatically checks backlinks that I paid for on other sites every other day.
  • I would pay $5 for a premium WordPress plugin, that allows me to add the copyright information directly at every image in my WordPress media library. It must also feature a short code to display all the copyright information on a public page on my site.
  • I would pay $5 for a premium WordPress plugin, that allows me to set a sender name, sender email, and an email signature for every email sent by my WordPress site (I already built that, you can get it for free on my website).
  • I would pay $69 for a premium WordPress plugin, that allows me to sell digital products through WarriorForum, JVZoo, and Clickbank so I can leverage all affiliates from those platforms. It should also allow me and my customers to manage their license keys and digital products through my website.

What ideas do you have? Please also rate other ideas :-)

Cheers,
Michael

I would pay $1,000 for a premium WordPress plugin that has advanced AI and comes with a robot capable of making cups of tea and doing general office duties:
    • hiding the vodka from Mrs. A,
    • giving my monkeyservant Dennis his bath,
    • hiding the vodka from Colin,
    • and from Dennis,
    • oh, and let's not forget posting on forums for me, whilst I dictate to him what to write down. Whenever I let Dennis do it, well, it rarely goes well.
Hello, my name is Tom but you can call me Buttock Face.

    Dennis, on the other hand?

You can call him Sir Dennis the Amazing, Studly, Genius Monkey.

    But Tom?

    Buttock Face.

    - Tom

    P.S:

    According to Colin . . .

I would pay $10 for a premium WordPress plugin that turns desired portions of my own videos into watermarked animated gifs and displays the finished products wherever I like, including automatic syndication (that I can switch on and off) to my own social platforms.

Oh, and one that finds the vodka bottles.

    - Colin

    Hi Michael,

It is a shame to see so many trolls on here and in general this whole forum.

It is interesting to read the ideas you have come up with. Wordpress plugins can be a lucrative business if you are able to create a product that is both unique and user friendly.

When choosing Wordpress plugins, a majority of the time I will not pay. However, when I feel the plugin would be very beneficial to my website, I do not mind paying extra money on a premium plugin.

The one that you have listed that sounds most enticing are:
    • I would pay $10 for a premium WordPress plugin, that automatically checks backlinks that I paid for on other sites every other day.
    • I would pay $69 for a premium WordPress plugin, that allows me to sell digital products through WarriorForum, JVZoo, and Clickbank so I can leverage all affiliates from those platforms. It should also allow me and my customers to manage their license keys and digital products through my website.

I think any type of lead generation plugin would appeal to a lot of marketers using Wordpress. I.e. floating CTA buttons or email newsletter forms etc.

If it's a good plugin, which is well coded, comes with great support and regular updates I would be willing to pay up to $100.

    Thank you for your replies.

@Tom Addams: Thanks for your idea. So the user flow would be like:
Someone uploads a video to your WordPress media lib. Then you would select one and load it in something like a browser basesd "iMovie kind of" editor. There you would select the desired frames. After that you would define a resolution and watermark to be put in the background. The plugin would then output a gif file (in your media library) and you could select this gif to publish it on different social platforms with a few clicks.

The way I see this is that it sounds like two plugins that you can connect very well. One for video editing (which is quite complicated / would have to research for a browser based video editor) and the other one for publishing images to different social platforms with a few clicks. The latter part sounds more interesting to me, as this could be used for different things...

What exactly is your intention behind it? Which problem would you solve for your users and for yourself exactly?

@philippab: Thank you very much for your constructive answer. I also thought about lead generation plugins. There are actually many out there, but (correct me if i am wrong) what I haven't found yet is a plugin like this:

I would pay around $19 for a WordPress plugin that let's me upload "opt-in-bribes" to my WordPress media library and deliver them to users that subscribe to my WordPress blog when registering through a certain link.

=> The idea behind this is, that you create different opt-in-bribes for your most visited posts and put a "special" registration link below them. If a user registers through such a link he would get access to a digital file (PDF, ZIP, whatever). I haven't found a plugin that does that without a third party integration (infusion, awebbber, etc.). Also I personally prefer to have all my users in my WordPress database. From there I can always push them to different autoresponder-providers such as mailchimp or awebber. What do you think about this?

    I have another one:

As a (premium) WordPress plugin developer I would pay $29 for a plugin that let's me monitor the rankings of my plugin for certain keywords in the WordPress plugin database.

=> Like an "SEO" tool for plugins, only that the search engine is not google, but the WordPress plugin directory :-)

    Hi Sreevani Bottr,

that would require some form of AI and usually this only works in a very specific field. I know for example a friend of mine who works for a large insurance company. When people send a letter / mail their system identifies (based on a scoring algorithm) what people need and trigger things like sending a copy of their policy and so on. It even understands irony, so when a user says something like: "Very nice that it only took you 3 month to send me my policy" then it will reply and let the customer know the company is sorry...

Anyway: I could imagine a plugin where you define a few predefined answers to certain kinds of questions. But I fear it would be too much for one person to develop an AI-answering machine :-)

    Cheers
