Total Newbie Here, Can anyone help me with some publishing issues?

Ok, So I told my boss I could redo the company website for him, it is a pretty simple site, just a few pages. I made the site with xsitepro, but now am having trouble publishing. I was given their hosting account information, and I plugged that into xsitepro, but when I publish the site doesn't change. I figure maybe I need to input something in as a home directory or ftp directory, but am not sure. I signed into the server account through filezilla and tried to see if there was a directory name I could find, but this is where I am lost, any insight or help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

There is a directory file that they are not allowing me to delete, not sure what to do,

Wish I could help with your specific issue, but its impossible to know your server setup. I would definitely recommend Weebly.com though if you want free hosting and something simple enough that anyone can do without server/IT knowledge. I'm a developer of some large applications, but when it comes to my own personal website and blog I choose Weebly. Its one less complexity I need to worry about. I could go make a big fancy application for myself, but its just not worth it.

Assuming your files all copies up to your server ok, the following might be happening..

Check to see if your ISP is not chaching the files for the old site.

If this is the case, then nothing new is gonna show up until the cache is reset. An old ISP of mine use to do that (and their cache was only updated once a day).

So see what happens if a few hours time.

Otherwise, you can alway make sure your browser is not caching the files as well, by simply pressing F5 a couple of times in your browser..

Other than that, there's not a lot more we can suggest.

      Take care
