    Interesting.

I haven't had much time to read up on it, but it looks like it will turn out to probably be another PHP, but for desktop use.

    Yay :]

It may hold promise. I love python for scripting but haven't had the need to write a desktop app myself in years. If I was to make a desktop app I'd probably use adobe flex, but Go looks like it would be more flexible and powerful.

Don't forget Headfirst - you can use python to write desktop apps. I do it all the time - it's quick and easy. Not tried it in windows, but in ubuntu it's a great way to get results.

I took a quick look at the promo video.

I'll have to take a look at it the language in more detail, but I was very disappointed in the promo video. It emphasized "speed of compilation". That's nice, but I'm much more concerned with speed of development and speed of execution.

Anyone can write an application that compiles like a cheetah but executes like a snail. So the promo told me nothing.

But thanks for the heads up. I'll take a look at it this weekend.
