Does anyone know anything about .PART Files

I have suddenly got the problem, where some files that I receive arrive partially. Meaning the whole file is not received.

Of course now if one of the files are received like this the whole program is useless. I have just purchased Site Profit Bot and it is not working. It is not because of the program, it is my computer.

I did a search on Google to find out about .PART files and two companies said in their "write ups" could repair this problem. I paid them each $50.00 but they in the end said they could not do it. I got my money back.

Just thinking, maybe one of the warrior members have come across this and solved the problem.

Thanks in anticipation

Ralph, I've sometimes seen this with Firefox on XP. If I start a large download from a slow site, forget about it, then shut down the computer, I sometimes wind up with a useless partial file like that.

Do you have a good internet connection?

Could you ask the vendor to use a zip utility to package up smaller chunks that you might able to download successfully?

    Hi Ralph,

PART is simply an incomplete file , its of no-use & no one can repair it or fix it.

Because its not 100% , if you have got only 60% of the file , then how would they repair & fix it to 100% :-)

So instead , I would suggest you to use File splitting tools & you can get the files in part & then join them together.

Donot pay or approach guys who claims to fix an PART file & its mere a SCAM as far as I'm concerned.

    Hope this helps.

Sundar, you explained this better than I did, thank you.

By the way, the free Zip utility I fancy is http://www.zipgenius.com. I use it to download several zip files, then select them all in Windows explorer, right click and pick "Unzip here to separate folders." After it does that, I can delete the original zip files and each item has, you guessed it, its own folder. This is really handy when I have a day with several downloads.
