Can somebody teach me how to install an ionCube Loader please?

Hi, I just invested in a digital download program called DL Guard. However, before it was completed, I received this message:

Application files have now been uploaded and installed.
An ionCube Loader is also needed by DLGuard in order to run,
however your server configuaration does not permit the automatic installation of this component.

A page has been uploaded to your server which helps install the Loader.
Click OK to view this page in your browser.

I clicked the link and then I got the following message:

Analysis

Analysis of your system configuration shows:
PHP Version 5.2.8
Operating System Linux
Threaded PHP No
php.ini file /web/conf/php5.ini
Required Loader ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so
Instructions

To install the Loader in your php.ini file, edit or create the file /web/conf/php5.ini and add the following line before any other zend_extension lines:
zend_extension = /<path>/ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so

where /<path>/ is where you've installed the loader, e.g. /usr/local/ioncube/

If there are no zend_extension lines already, you can put the line at any point in the file.

Finally, stop and restart your web server software for the changes to take effect.

My webhost is GoDaddy, but I have no idea how to do this or what this means. Can somebody help me install this ionCube loader so I can get the program that I bought up and running?

Thank you.

I have never used Godaddy hosting, but it seems that all you need to do is follow the tutorial below.
Important - Is your host upgrading PHP? (GoDaddy or 1&1 Web Hosting)

And that should get you running. If you need any more help, feel free to Skype me and I can help you. Im usually on.

No one here can help you. You need to get in touch with Godaddy and ask their support for help. OR take a look at the support desk for dlguard and see if there is an asnwer to you question there.

Failing that, you need to get a decent host like hostgator and dlguard will work straight out of the box (so to speak, I know it's a digital product! aka script.)

Hostgator has ionCube installed and enabled by default.
    1and1?
I had to write special code for auto-enable IonCube support for it.
1and1 is a winner of the contest for the slowest admin panel.

Hi I just wanted to pass this along to anyone else who is having trouble installing ion cube and is receiving this message: No php.ini file /web/conf/php5.ini

This message means is that you must rename your php.ini to php5.ini
So long as you have configured the information inside correctly, that will allow ion cube to recognize the correct php file exists on the server and eliminate that error message. Be sure to also read the instruction files inside the ion cube zip file. There is a test procedure listed inside that is easy to follow.

There are many hosts that have Ioncube installed, just ask them for their phpinfo dump, they'll send you a URL, go there and search the page for ioncube - if there you've found a host with ioncube installed.
