I was wondering if there is a big advantage to getting the hostgator business plan as opposed to the hatchling plan. I value your opinions, fellow warriors.

Thanks in advance, -p

While I have never used HostGator, I am quite well versed in web hosting. I just looked at the plans...

The primary difference between the two is the number of domains. The hatchling only allows one domain, whereas with the business package you have unlimited domains, so you can run multiple websites from the same account. In the IM world it's a good thing to be setting up lots of niche sites.

The only other difference I can see is the ability to add SSL (secure pages) but you don't need that unless you are using your own merchant account to accept online payments.

The Hostgator Baby plan is a good deal - unlimited domains "websites" and only $9.95 paying monthly.

If you plan to host many websites then the Baby plan is a good bet.

    All the best

Thanks. I went with the business plan bc of the 1-800 number. I also got a coupon off this forum for 1 month free. Plus I bought it thru my affiliate link.
