Those look like custom Database Sites.

Meaning their is probably a team of programmers that built a system/maintain it.

I see no reason to believe either of those sites uses an existing packaged software. StockBoulevard is written in PHP and CEOExpress uses ASP, so they most definitely are not using the same software.

I also found no evidence in the code to say they are anything but a custom programmed job.

Sorry it's not the answer you were hoping for!

          Thanks!

I was hoping it would be some out of the box script with customization, too bad...

Just create an account at Elance and put in a request for bids to clone those sites. Have a cup of tea, relax and wait for the offers to start coming in. There's nothing special about either of those sites that can't be duplicated.

      Thanks!

Any idea of what a reasonable price would be? Just so that I have a rough idea of what to expect

      thanks again

It's going to vary, but from my past experiences, no more than $300.00. I'm grabbing that figure from sites I've had cloned.

Having said that, the CEO site is pretty much all outgoing links when you get past the info bar and therefore should be much less.

I would recommend to use WordPress if you prepare to launch the new website. The thing is why I do recommend you to do so, because if you will get into custom programming it will last for you ages to get the decent website with the right CMS as WordPress can do it's job.

    Hi,

The second site, stock boulevard, is a stock out of the box application called phpBB.
It has obviously been tweaked and the theme changed and things added, but at its root its phpBB. You can get it here - www.phpbb.com

One way to find out how stuff is built is to hit Ctrl-U and read the source code for the site. With stock boulevard I could see that the css points to a file called subsilver.css

    Subsilver is a phpbb theme.

Not sure about the ceoexpress site. It could be custom. And it has been built using asp.

    Cheers

WordPress, although good, is not the answer all. I use WP on many sites but have found that it is not a suitable answer for all scenarios.

@ senderbot, great call!!! This what BRAINSTORMING is all about. You're right; that is phpbb and it wouldn't take much to tweak it to his liking.

I see the similarities you see here, Marcolav - and the first
thing that leapt to mind when I saw them both was:

    Xaraya

... of course such sites can be done in lots of different ways.

The first site may be DotNetNuke. Not a fun platform.
