According to Stats Support — WordPress.com

Google Analytics cannot be used on Wordpress.com hosted blogs. They do not allow you to insert the required line of code.

Just paste the code that Google Analytics gives you into the footer.php file, directly BEFORE the closing </body> tag.

Every page on your site will include the code.

why not get your own host? it's literally $3-6 a month. WordPress is free and EASY to install through Fantastico (in most cPanels)

ON second thought, if you do not want to pay for hosting, Blogspot (just as good as ***free*** version of WordPress) allows you to use Google Analytics.

If someone wants to voice how WordPress is SOO MUCH MORE powerful than Blogspot, I agree. If you host your own, of course.

But considering free version of WP is piece of crap, in terms of 'powerful features', i'd say go with BlogSpot.

Of course, why would almighty google not allow analytics code on their OWN blog?
