Hi Guys, I want to make a video of myself and walk out onto my web page, does anyone know how to do this. Also I want it to be timed delayed and at the end the video fades out.
Thanks

Yes that is the one, thanks for responding, I want to be able to do this on my own when ever I want, I don't want to go through a service.

Something like this must be filmed using "green screen" (chroma key) to remove the background. It is not easy to do this well. It requires a smooth green or blue background and the lighting must be even across the whole area.

You can find many tutorials online about filming green screen stuff. And then you need a fancy enough video editing software to create a video with a transparent background.

From there it's a matter of flash + javascript to place the movie on top of your website and play it at the right time.

All in all, not a simple process!

It is really worth all the additional effort compared to a simple "talking head in a box" video? You decide!

I know exactly how to do it.

I used it here: AdvertisingSwami.com - more effective web-marketing for small businesses in New England - index

If you wanted higher quality you'd probably want a smaller
image so the video loads fast. You'll notice most little walk-on
people are kind of small. Less bandwidth is why. In my
case I used a lower-quality rendering at a larger size since
I shot from the waist up and didn't want to be a little
    munchkin down there.

There's a lot of stuff you have to know to get it right. You
have to have the green screen and the right kind of
lighting to get rid of the shadows and evenly light the
background. Then you have to know stuff about how to
key it out and use video players and .FLV converters
    to get the effect.

A lot of people wonder about how to do this. I might
make a how-to course about it.
