MultiMediaAutoResponder - Is there a FIX??

Hi Guys

I bought MMAR a Server Side autoresponder script with PLR License.

But it doesn't work!?
It's written in PHP.

1) Does anybody know of a FIX??
2) Is there anybody willing to have a look at it??
3) Anybody maybe have a better idea about this issue??

I know about aweber and getresponse, and the white listing thing and can-spam.

I just don't want to commit to monthly payments, unless my site starts to give me some form of return on investment!

Thanks Guys

Your problem may be the version of PHP your host runs, as
well as certain permissions. Scripts which work with one
host often won't work with others.

I've had pretty easy script installs and great support from
Web Hosting Services, Reseller Hosting, and Dedicated Servers by HostGator

Their support staff has gone beyond what I would expect
to adapt my hosting to accomodate my script needs
    many times.

My car doesn't work...... do you know what's wrong with it?

(I didn't give you enough details to tell me what either right? Are you getting error codes? Anything in the error_log file? Etc...)

You might want to chuck it down to experience and go
with this free, yet credible autoresponder:

Maybe the answer to that would be ... because we're less than 2 months old, and Aweber has been around since 1998 ( I think that's right, but don't quote me )

At one time, email itself wasn't free ... now a free email address is a given. We'd like to think we're about to do the same with autoresponders.

I'm still using GetResponse because I have lists in it and
Listwire doesn't support list import. I also use single-opt-in
sometimes and Listwire only supports double. For me to
move over to ListWire entirely has consequences, but to
somebody just getting started building a list, Listwire
is an option worth checking out - and in my opinion
removes the last credible 2 objections a beginning
marketer could make to not getting started:

      1. Free services suck (listwire is the exception, imo)
      2. not ready to invest $20/mo

The cost objection may not be very credible to a person
who is already making money online, but I know from
much experience that many people let small obstacles
hold them back. With LW you can get a quality tool
for learning email marketing, with no risk. That's why
      I recommend it.

    Hi,

First of all one of the requirements for that autoresponder is "Register Globals is On". People can correct me if I'm wrong here but I'm pretty sure that because of various security risks from script injection hacks that all hosts now have it turned off.

Therefore your script wont work. You can contact the support email for the company you bought the auto-responder from and see if they can arrange a workaround or recommend something else for you to do.

There are also quite a few good autoresponders on the market that are standalone products. However they wont cost you $29 - more like $150 upwards. But even at that price they can work out cheaper over time than a monthly autoresponder.

The advantage of using hosted services such as Aweber etc is that they are cheap to get started (although they do cost more in the long run.)

Here's a quick list of some of the downloadable ones on the market today -

    Senderbot
    AutoResponse Plus
    Interspire Email Marketer
    AlstraSoft Autoresponder Pro.
    Arial Software
    PG Email Newsletter Software

But before you purchase one, always check out the requirements and ensure that your webhost is compatible.

    Hi,

I looked into this some more and it seems that as of 2007/2008 version 3 has been developed. If you bought version 1 or 2 you should possibly look to see if you can get upgraded to version 3.

If you have PLR then you have version 1 or 2. Version 3 doesn't come with PLR.

Here's a link to a blog post that has details from the scripts developer -Multi Media AutoResponder glitch.. - Tech Support Forum

    Cheers

    Hi,
    Hope this helps,

Sometimes a script requires that at the server the global_register function is enabled.

Many hosting providers turn this function off for security reasons but there is a short workaround to enable this function
locally only for the script which requires this function.

Just open a text editor like notepad and add the following line
    register_globals=1

Then save this file and give it the name php.ini

Now upload the file to the installation folder of the script which requires this function.

    regards,
