Hey dudes,

Im looking for a script which can scrape all fax numbers relating to a certain search criteria i.e scrapes all 'second hand motor dealers in the UK' and compiles them into a database is this possible/easy to do?

Thanks!

Are you aware of a site that would list said fax numbers? If so yes that can be done. If you expect to just crawl the entire web "looking" it's gonna be a no.

I do not intend the whole web, I do have 3 sites in mind, would it be ok on this scale?

That's what scraping is for mate

To save you some money - do your homework and outline the urls that the programmer is going to have to go through and be specific where the fax number is.

Also be specific on how you want the end results. Dumped in a database, csv file, text dump, etc...
I'm afraid I don't have time this week (or next) but this isn't a major scraping job most likely. You can probably get someone on odesk to write the script for you - or pm me and i'll give you a few suggestions on who might do the work for you.
