RSS feed just via an XML file

Hi,

I'm thinking about adding some articles to a corporate website.
I've no experience with RSS, but have gotten the impression that it's easy to get incoming links that way, and also a user friendly aproach.

Can the feed exist of just an xml-file, that then links to my articles (for example www.mywebsite.com/article1.asp, www.mywebsite.com/article2.asp, etc.)?
What syntax is needed?

Also, how will I then get my feed 'out there'?
I've not experience with 'pinging', etc.

Thanks for the help with an RSS newbie question.

Best regards,
Thomas

You can submit your RSS feed to directiories there is a big list at RSS Submissions or you can use software like RSS Submit by Dummy Software to automate the submission.

You can easily write your own xml file for rss purposes. Just google "rss feed structure".

    Thanks, guys.

HorseStall, what happens when I submit my feed to these directories? Will they show my post and link to my article, and will this happen automatically when my feed is updated?

stma, so creating the xml file is enough? That's my feed?

    Thanks.

    Best regards,
    Thomas
