I would suggest ffmpeg for this; it's sort of the "swiss army knife" of video conversion tools. You would have to use Linux to run it, however. I don't think it can be built for Windows.

ffmpeg is great and you can run it on Windows as well. You can download the latest ffmpeg binaries for Windows here.

There are GUI's for it, but if you do it using the command line, the syntax is something like:

      ffmpeg -i inputfile.swf -sameq outputfile.wmv

The "-sameq" just means that it should try to keep the same videoquality in the outputfile as it is in the original inputfile.

It can handle .flv as well.

I also meet your issue, though many of the SWF announced to support converting SWF files to other video format, they failed to import or convert them.

Luckliy, i finally find a workable SWF Converter called iDealshare VideoGo which can successfully batch convert SWF to WMV, MP4, MOV, AVI, FLV, WebM, GIF, etc on Mac or Windows.

Hope it also helps for you.

Hrmmm. So you dig up a five year old thread with your very first post? I'm pretty sure the OP already has found their solution by now.

From Adobe forum, I found a solution shown as below:

For Windows users, it is quite frustrating to play SWF files in Windows, Windows Media Player, etc or edit SWF videos in Windows Movie Maker, etc. That's because SWF format is not compatible with Windows and Windows devices and players.

Converting SWF to other more compatible formats is not an easy job since most of SWF converter don't work at all.

Few i can suggest you is this full guide . Following it you can convert your SWF files in minutes.

Hi, you can use this SWF Video Converter to convert swf to mp4 / wmv / avi / youtube and more. I'm using it almost on daily basis and it's great.
It happened once that the conversion failed, and even that time when I contacted support they fixed the issue very quickly.
