Hey there

I changed the .htaccess line to redirect there.. I do not know how this affects spidering or SEO of my website. Could somebody please explain.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Why don't you just set the forum as you home page, so that you don't have to redirect anything?

Is that possible from within the forum software?

I had a look around but I dont think there is an option to do that. I use IPB 3.0.3 so I might be missing something here lol..

But also, how does redirecting affect the spidering of my website? Will it follow through to the forum by itself? I also set the spider options in my option to treat as a member.

If you're redirecting with .htaccess and you want to have good SEO results, I suggest you add [L,R=301] to the end of every .htaccess redirect line.

I also found a good article on this subject for you, you might wanna read it - click. I have nothing to do with this article, but it seemed like a good one when I skimmed it.
