Wordpress initialcap Issue

Hi guys,

I am setting up a blog and chose a beautiful theme called Medieval Book (??????). It incorporates this code for to make the initial caps beatuful - WPguy.

However I am facing difficulties when writing in Cyrillic. It displays the initial cap as "?" instead of the Cyrillic character. The funny thing is that everything else in the post is displayed as it should be(you can see my tests there).

Can anyone help me with that?

I asked the WPguy and the guys who made this theme and they could figure it out which wasn't cool at all.

were those characters non-English? I also see them ???. If those are non-English may be the font you have used, does not have those entries.

No, they are not English characters. I tried changing the font to Arial and TNR but didn't work. Then tried to change the default encoding in the php code but didn't work either.

It is the initial capital letter only that's problematic.

        Hello,
Ok, I have performed some tests. It is not any font problem I guess. However, if possible remove the following entry from your stylesheet.
        font-stretch: ultra-condensed
The chance of problem to be in the editor. What editor you were using? Use any unicode compatible editor and when save the page, save as unicode with BOM.

I guess your problem will be solved.

        thanks

I removed all ultra-condensed but didn't work either.

I edit the css inside the wordpress' dashboard, no external editor. Could that be the problem?

The funny thing is that I see the "?" instead of the Cyrillic character in the source code even.

Yep, then it is BOM related problem. Try editing with UTF-8 supported editor. You can use notepad. But start it as Unicode support. I guess you can get it from File->New->File type

    thanks
