Developing Applications for Mobile Phones

Hello good fellas i am a .net programmer and i have tried using visual studio to develop applications that will run on mobile phones like Nokia but it never worked out for me.
please i will love to know what kind of development tools i will need to use and i am also good in java programming just if it can work out.

    I remember I used to use Eclipse for that. Was a very long time ago, but maybe it will set you on the right path.

    Best to register on the nokia developer site and see what they recommend to use.

      When you say mobile phones you are being far too generic.

      What OS are you targetting? Most people will (depending on locale) are Iphone, android or symbian. and each one will have a different answer :/ if its a generic play on all then you will need to look at portability which isnt native in most applications [for good reason]

    if your developing for nokia then aptana studio will suit your needs perfectly, you can download the nokia plugin and away you go, you can create some pretty nifty applications using that, ive had a few published on the ovi store. aptana uses eclipse, also as mentioned above register with the developer forums on nokia forums.
