I think both are nofollow, which means they wont help you directly with PR. But they would to get traffic.

    Hi Jared,

I use both, but have better results with FaceBook. We all use methods that feel right for us, and Mr. Zuckerberg's place is where I hang.

    Best Wishes,

    Tom

Well, they are both two different beasts. Facebook is good for blogging, posting events, news releases, etc. Twitter is awesome for quick announcements, communicating directly with others, etc.
Neither will help with PR though. Traffic-wise we've seen better results using Twitter, but you have to make sure you show personality on Twitter. Nobody likes a robot.

No follow links never add value to the PR. Both Facebook and Twitter only have no-follow links. And the next thing which comes to my mind is that Twitter has a limit of characters. Like say if you enter a url of 50 characters, you have less characters left for description. Only traffic gaining is possible using both if used wisely.
