No I don't think it is. A lot of the old stuff is coming back. Take a look a python for instance!

Bullcrap. Every cell phone, millions of applications. Sure Java has it's issues, but now we have Spring, Grails, shall I go on? Java is not "dead" by a long shot, in fact I would say that it is as "dead" as machine language was in the 70's (I was there) and will never really "die" but just become another layer within the ever increasingly abstracted computational system.

The concepts are sound, but like anything complex it takes time to make it fufill the original dream.

Nice effort and will like appreciate for the work done. But I don't think I can give any good amount of time in researching the language for I am not that familiar with it.

Excellent! It is so unusual to watch a "movie" for real programmers.

A very nice production. I laughed quite a bit.

The voice over sounded like the guy that used to do most of the movies that died within the last few years.

There are many programming options out there.

C, was once touted as the language that would bring unity in portability. Then Microsoft got into the fray; *******ized it and made it not so portable any more (this was back in the mid 80's), but then that's the Microsoft way; take anything that has Standards associated with it and toss the Standards out the windows because it is the MS/Windows way or nothing.

I say use whatever technology makes sense for the task at hand. If you want to display orbiting satellites like NASA does? Then by all means use Java; if you're just putting up a picture of Grandma with a heading "Happy Birthday" then I think HTML works just fine!
