software error message what do I do?

Hi

I had a software made up for me few years ago...it was fine then I started to get an error message. I was told to dowload a file and then everything worked great. I can't remember the link for the upload...

Now my laptop packed in and I had to re-install the software but now I get this error message:

"Run-time error 339"
Component "mscomctl.ocx" or one of its denpencies is not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"

Any ideas?

    no..like I said it was made for me 7 years ago and when I downloaded a microsfot file it worked great...until last week when my laptop died on me. Now I can't remember the link. So it does work. Thought someone might be able to tell me what i have to download. THANKS

    Search for that specific .ocx file and see if you can locate the download.

    First of all check to see if you actually have mscomctl.ocx on your system, it will probably be in the windows/system32 folder.

    If it is already there then it might just need registering. You can do that by opening the Run dialog box (i.e. Start-Run) and typing the following:

    regsvr32 mscomctl.ocx

    Hit enter or click Run and this should register the ocx file.
