Incompatible Archive. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) after upgrade to Wordpress 3.0.1

Hey all

Just starting a new site. Got into Wordpress and it said it wasnt the newest version, upgrade to version 3.0.1 so I did.

I went to upload new theme and getting the above message.

I have searched over the net and still to find something that definitively works.

Any ideas?

Does the error occur just when you try to upload a specific new theme, or is it any theme you try?

If it's a specific theme, I'd suggest downloading the theme again, and checking you can open the theme ZIP file on your computer (the message PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT suggests that the theme ZIP file is corrupt / damaged, so therefore Wordpress can't install it).

It's also worth checking the size of the ZIP file, and making sure that your PHP settings for file upload limits allow the ZIP file to be uploaded (this shouldn't be an issue, as most themes come in well under the PHP default upload limits).

    Cheers for the quick response.

Uploaded another theme and that went on ok. Downloaded ZIP file again and got same response. Size of ZIP file is 1.7MB though I am unsure where to check to see limits?

Putting another slant on it. As I have just started this Wordpress Install, and not made any changes barring trying to upload this theme, can I just go back into Fantastico and remove the installation and create a new one with a different admin login?

Answered my own question, yes I can. Hopefully the older version allows the new theme.
