Programmers help me get rid of this error pleaseeeee

I just installed the "pretty link" plugin on my wordpress blog (v. 3.0.1).

Every time i click on anything in the pretty link menu (create new link, options, ext) It takes me to a page that says "you do not have sufficient permission to view this page"

I am not that strong in programming ...mainly I know some html... I have used pretty link successfully on other blogs so I have no idea whats going on

Some things that are different from the other blog
1. different hosting this one is hosted at bluehost the others are at hostgator
2. wp v. 3.0.1 instead of 3.0
3. I used the them editor artisteer to create the them for this website and just used a free theme for the others..

Any ideas?

Thanks Chad

Is that message just a WordPress Admin pages or an actual error.

If its an admin page it is the plug-ins permission setup.
Make sure you have full admin permissions.

I just looked into the plug-ins permissions settings for the pages and they are set to 8 which is administrator.

So you need to make sure you are at least a 8.
If you are the origional admin account it should be 10.

Make sure you have the latest version of the plugin (1.4.50 is latest, I think). Version 3 of WordPress changed the way menu pages are handled.

I just installed latest version of plugin on WordPress 3.1-alpha and it works fine.

Set the theme back to default (Twenty-Ten) and see if you still get the error. If you don't, then your theme may be a problem.

I use pretty link and have no problems with WP 3.0.1

Make sure you have set a custom permalink structure as the "pretty link" plugin requires that.
Under "settings", go to "permalinks", select "custom structure" and add: /%category%/%postname%/ or /%postname%/ and save it.
