SENuke Downloaded Virus to My Laptop Antivirus IS

I am going to be as thorough as possible to see if maybe my post can help someone who runs into this in the future. I am diligent about clearing my laptop daily, sometimes a few times a day. I also run my virus software daily to make sure everything is running smoothly.

Yesterday evening I started my SENuke and while I was submitting Bookmarks I walked away. When I came back 30 minutes later my pc was going nuts with pop ups acting as if Windows was warning me about a detected virus. I tried to prompt me to hit clean virus which i did not do, I closed the window by pressing the do not clan option and a program started up on my desktop called "Antivirus IS".

This program looks as if it is running through your files and also displays viruses found and prompts you to hit clean to purchase Antivirus IS in order to clean your computer. This virus hijacks your pc and you cannot run anything. As a matter of fact when I hit Firefox to open an internet page it took forever and eventually Firefox opened up with a website by the name of Antividrome.com which is obviously the page for the bogus program hijacking the computer/laptop. I restarted my laptop several times and after the desktop loaded completely the program/virus would kick in.

I was able to locate the file folder with my Norton Anti Virus but the funny thing is that I could not replicate or find the actual files by following the folder sequence displayed. It also said that the last site recorded was Abrominy.com.

It's something like Name/app data/local/temp/wfdxjrjmq

The actual file is named ywiixvflanw.exe.

I used Norton to display the last files downloaded and found the above named folder and exe file. You cannot delete cause it is running on your pc or laptop.

I went on my other laptop to try and find a fix and found a website with good information which helped me get an idea how to fix this. I did something different than the website which seems to have saved me a couple of hours or more time. Some people on the site claim it took them hours to fix this but I got it fixed within 20-30 minutes

Here is the fix I did in case anyone else runs into this.

Restart PC
Hit F8 before windows loads
Run laptop/pc in "Safe Mode Networking"

The website I found instructed me to download a program called SuperAntiSpyWare and to use the portable version. It asked for me to download it quickly then turn off the computer before the virus hijacks the pc. Then restart the pc and activate the program, then turn off the pc again. Restart and run the antivirus software and scan the specific folder to clean the virus.

What seems to be the issue above is that most people in the comments area said it took many tries as the file is not easily located and sometimes the virus kicks in right before the program finishes running.

I didn't do any of the above steps after reading it took people hours to fix with this method. I did follow the initial steps of running the laptop on safe mode for networking but then I quickly turned on Norton located last files downloaded which displayed the folder where the ywiixvflanw.exe file was located. I opened that folder and deleted the file, then cleared my recycle bin. That fixed it!

Sorry for the long explanation, just hope this helps someone out there that runs into this same issue. I know this happened while using SENuke cause nothing was running on my laptop except SENuke and I always clean my pc right before I use the program.

The last site that SENuke recorded was SiteSays.com. Not sure if it downloaded the virus from that site or the site after that. I was running 4 windows within SENUke so it could have been another site on their list.

If someone has run into this and has a better fix, I think it would be a good place to share it in order to help others experiencing the same problem.

I am just curious if you contaced anyone at SENuke and informed them of the problem? And thanks for the step-by-step, my computer once contracted one of these viruses and it is so much easier to fix once you know how.

Did you ever hear anything from SENuke on this? Be curious to see what site it was coming in on.

Senuke visits a bunch of websites when you create accounts or post things there. If those websites contain a virus Senuke will download it. It's not Senuke's fault, it's the fault of the actual website. If you happen to visit that website yourself, you'd download the virus just as Senuke does.

Just use an anti-virus software and you won't have to worry about it.

Well I'm sure most everyone has an anti virus software. I happen to have 2 on my laptop so that wasn't the issue. I am sure I commented that the virus was downloaded from a site but not sure which at the time as I was not in front of the screen when it happened. The anti-virus program has nothing to do with this, I think it's one of those pop-ups that come up where they ask you to hit continue to leave the page and cancel to leave but since the system is automated it probably just prompted the pop-up to activate.

Anyways just my thoughts, but you obviously didn;t read my post, it is long due to detail.
