Programming or Software

I apologize if I am in the wrong place but thought programmers might be able to help.

I am interested in a program or software that would allow the users to see and hear each other while looking at an interactive book online and at the same time. Also one of the other can turn the page and and see the exact same thing across the miles. It is primarily something I would like to set up for grandparents who live a distance from their grandchildren.

Does anyone know of such a thing?

    You are probably not going to find any software that does anything that specialized. Your product is essentially a chat program, so you can draw upon the many resources in that area. The only difference is that of chatting in sentences, your program chats in page #'s. If you have any programming/scripting experience, I recommend playing around with Adobe Flex. Using the built-in components and a little custom Actionscript 3 programming, you can get this up-and-running in a few days.

    The official Adobe Flex IDE is about $200 but you can also use a variety of free alternatives.

    You could likely use any type of web conferencing software like Goto Meeting - its a monthly subscription but meeting participants can see the screen of the designated person.
