Wordpress Theme, PHP and Flash

I originally posted this in the main section but this is a better place for it.

I want to put a flash movie across the full width of a 2 column Wordpress theme. It will go below the header & navbar and above the content & sidebar.

I downloaded 3-D Realty Theme which has flash in it and am trying to dissect it but no luck.

I believe this requires some PHP and I can't figure it out. Any suggestions?

Thanks warriors.

That sounds a bit complex. I haven't heard of people inserting flash movies inbetween things and it could prove to be tricky and/or wind up messing up the whole site.

What exactly are you trying to do? Perhaps an explanation could help further.

I agree. It will also be very tricky making sure all browsers will see it just right and not through the entire page for a loop.

Depending on how the theme is coded, the most likely place to find the code section you're looking for is in header.php of your theme folder.

It's not tricky, not complex, but you will need to know some HTML/CSS and you might have some issues with any dropdown-type menus (they will fall behind the flash movie because of how browsers place flash objects - but that can be fixed too).

I originally wanted to have a jQuery carosel run across the full width of the theme but below the header and nav and above the content and sidebar. I know html and css pretty well but not PHP.

I couldnt get that to work. I thought I would try flash. I can get flash into a post and into the sidebar.

I can work with javascript and jQuery scripts just enough to screw things up.

The 3-D Realty Theme has the basic functionality I want but I haven't back engineered it successfully. . . yet.

Steve, I remember having the menu drop down problem with another site. I need to determine if the nav bar code is in the header.

I gotta learn a little php.
