You will have to access the database directly via phpMyAdmin or whatever and change it there in the wp_options table.

Thats the right answer! If you don't want to manually go through the wp_options table you could export your database, use a text editor to replace all instances of www.website.com with website.com, save the results and use them to rebuild your database.

A bit of an overkill perhaps but often a lot faster!

If you did not change file structure on your server, a simple addition of www to the home and site URL will not cause inability to log in, assuming you're using the new www. wp-admin address -- but therein lies the question: what do you mean, "I cannot login now"?

Do you receive the "Incorrect username or password" error message when trying to log in, or can you not even get to the login screen?

Regardless of your answer, step #1 when having problems with WordPress is to delete your browser cache files ('temporary Internet files' is what Internet Explorer calls them), then restart your browser.

I have done this and I am just sent in a circle back to the login page, it does not log me in or give any error.

      A little strange really.

Try starting from the actual login address: http: // www. yourdomain .com/wp-admin/ login.php

Before you do that, delete all of your browser cookies, then restart your browser.
