    Go for CSS sprites.
Not that many people know about them yet, you'll impress all your friends, lol

Holy crap! That's way cool! I'm not sure it's suitable for banner ad delivery though.

It is if you use it right

A little Jquery & CSS spriting goes a long way.

Really!!? Thanks for sharing it. I really didn't have this idea. Actually I use flash a lot and most of the people prefer it for all type of web animations including banners etc.

Sure you can use this for banner ads - if you're the one serving the banners. But what I was referring to is using these on other networks. For example, Adwords content network. In that case, these aren't going to be acceptable.

Flash is big for a reason. Small file size format and easy to integrate..

Is there some reason you can use it?

instead of Flash, GIF images and scripts are better because, while using Flash the load time for that page increases and user may not show much interest.

Flash is lightweight and the standard for animation, it breaks a lot of web standards, isn't SEO friendly at all and too many people use it incorrectly.

Oh yeah, for sure. It'd have to be all internal.

Flash is way over used, agreed, but its great for adding elements to your website like an animated banner. Sure SEO can't read it very well, but it sure helps speed up the site...vs using large image files or other tactics.

Point in case...use flash to splash up your website, not to build it. Make sure your keywords are elsewhere.

I know what you mean. When used in moderations and broken apart into separate CSS DIV's, Flash can be good. It makes things look pretty.

It's weird though, I've developed this inherent dislike toward Flash. It's just one of those things I want to argue against no matter what.

This might be because I'm a huge fan of AJAX and am just supporting one technology over the other (of course Flash is far more capable than AJAX, but AJAX is more standalone and flexible).

No, I am with you. I have a dislike for flash too. It's practical only for some reasons...however...with flex becoming more popular, it's certainly something that can't be ignored. It's only going to get more popular.

Also, people are coming up with some cool **** too. Once energy drink company is using (i think flex) to recognize when you hold the drink can to your camera. It then shows Shaq coming out of the can on the screen with your drink there.

Really weird, but imagine where this technology is going.

AJAX rocks. I recommend it to anyone... Your def on point there.
