Hi,

i'm looking for opensourse solution for build my own Social Bookmarking site.

I well know platforms like Wordpress and Joomla.

    Joomla has JomSocial and CommunityBuilder extensions, both are great.
    WordPress has BuddyPress plugin.

    You kind of have to play with them to figure out which one will fit your needs best.

    Have you heard of Status.Net?

    It's an open-source script most famous for powering Identi.ca

    it's like twitter and digg combined or something

    You can prefer to go with Drupal which is highly secured and fit for social networking site by its unlimited depth of user permission

    Thanks all for tips, I already heard for some of them.

    I thought about Drupal because I know it better coded and more secured than Joomla that true.

    Also thanks you Diane.

      You are quite welcome! I built all my sites on wordpress. Security on a bookmarking site was never an issue for me.

        I must have been very tired when I posted that remark. Gheesshhhh...sorry everyone. The bookmarking sites are SCRIPTS that are installed on your domain. Has nothing to do with WordPress. Sorry about that!

          there are many bookmarking site directories are present in the market, you can do the submission in it, or you can use wordpress its also good medium for bookmarking site......

      LOL who told you that? I think you have not researched this fully or you would know Joomla is better coded and more secure.

    Wordpress sites are cool sites and easy to work with specially for the niche ones. But if talking about eCommerce solutions Magento is the best.

    Drupal is great I agree.
