What's the best way to learn WP theme design?

I've built my own Wordpress Theme but the code is pretty simple and many of the modifications have to be done direct to the PHP files. I'd like to learn how to code themes properly using options and functions etc so that the user can modify the theme themselves without having to get out a text editor.

Can anyone point me to a useful website or book that I can use to help me?

    Hi!

To my best knowledge. codex dot wordpress dot org/Theme_Development

And you might want to know the various Template Tags for your Theme.
See codex dot wordpress dot org/Template_Tags

    Lastly, wordpress dot org /support/forum/themes-and-templates
Should be of help to you!

Hope this works out for you!

Sorry that I can't post links yet cos I am still very new to WF.

May we get to collaborate together in future.

Thanks everyone - I have been using the Codex but I hoped there was an advanced book I could also pick up to follow.

I did some more research on this topic and found that a theme framework is a good place to start so I'm going to test out Carrington: Carrington - The CMS Theme Platform for WordPress
