Pdf files and electronic readers

I publish an online magazine as a pdf file. Some of my readers want to be able to read it on their kindles and other electronic readers. Amazon has told one reader that it has to be a text file with no photos or borders. I find it hard to believe that books are downloaded to kindles with no photos. What is the process to have someone be able to read a pdf file on these readers?

    The latest Kindle reads PDFs natively and absolutly fine! (I use it every day!)

    I think Amazon are saying, in order for it to be purchased as "Kindle" text (like the Kindle purchased books are) it has to be in their format. But, to read on a Kindle all you have to do is download it and transfer it across.
