Hi guys,

I started to learn web development a few years ago. I grasped the concepts pretty fast, I learned the technologies that helped me to get a job, get paid for my knowledge and my abilities.
Things worked fine and I was pleased.

But, recently I started to get bored. It's not that I don't like programming, but I don't like to have a job I should commit daily. I'm not lazy, but I want to be on my own, I want more flexibility and I'm a bit frustrated because I feel that I haven't moved fast enough. I wonder if doing programming was the best thing for me.
I thought about freelancing, but I want to reach for something bigger, something that could have a greater impact to my income.

I'm not looking for magic bullets, nor shortcuts and quickfixes. I just want to know if there is a better way to develop my perspectives based on my knowledge.

What would you do if were in my place?

It really depends on what interests you. Is there anything specific that you want to make? What particular areas in programming do you enjoy and what languages do you know?

If you're bored of having someone tell you what to do as your job then I would suggest you create your own product (with your programming skills) and sell it. Think of something that you are interested in developing, develop it and then find someone else to market it for you for a share in the profits, or market it yourself. Once the money starts coming in then you won't have to work at a deskjob all day since hopefully you will now be making money from a product you created

Browse freelancer forums and look at jobs people are posting.

    Find some popular ones.
    Make it.
    Sell it.

    Rinse and repeat.

since you know web programming, why don't you start some websites like CMS or Directory. make something Innovative and new which should be new in internet and then promote it.

Gain some users and later earn money from it.

    Best wishes and Regards!!
