How can I fix my widgets? They're broken.

Seriously. I have a Wordpress blog, self-hosted, and probably when I was fooling around trying to make Keyword Winner or whatever it is work for me (it wouldnt'), my access to text Widgets got lost.

The widgets I've got loaded with text still show up on my pages, but from the dashboard I have no way to access them to change them. They're simply not on any menu, esp. not Appearance, which is where the Widgets item usually sits.

How can I fix this?

I tried switching to a different theme -- no help. And I'm already using the latest version of WP.

Not sure if this will work for you or not. It did for me on a previous version

Is it possible you deleted a part of your code, or one of your site's files? You could try to do a WP re-install, and make sure to NOT replace existing files. This might put any missing default files back into WP. Make sure you back up first of course.

Thank you both. I immediately tried the Reset Widgets, which seemed like the simpler option (if it worked), and what it did was basically erase the contents of the text widgets I had, which is fine. I wanted that. It did not, however, give me my Widgets back under the Appearance set of menu options.

So, with a heavy heart (sigh), I've come to the conclusion I'll have to re-install. Bummer.

      Again, thank you both.
