CHMOD of files keep changing why could this be?

The chmod of files keep changing within my server, why could this be?

Also how do I decide which folders need to be chmod and to what

    1.) If the files were created by a script owned by root you can't change them logged in as "username".

    2.) What are they changing to - some hosts doin't allow 777

      What a pointless post, it is not a 'virus'. I have found the reason, the host will only allow folders to be 755 and .php or any other file to be 644, problem now solved.

      It was automatically changing on file which was causing a chain of connected files to follow.
