Blog corrupted but I have sql file

It seems my whole wordpress blog is messed up but I have an sql back-up. Can I recover everything once I reload the sql file? I mean the posts and other stuffs?

    Yes, you will be able to use your backup of your site. But, I guess the question is:
    What exactly is messed up?

    Do you mean you are just going to install WP again and then dump your SQL backup? In that case, yes, everything will revert back to the date you made the backup.

    But, if you mean you do not have backup files for modified theme templates and your actual files, then the SQL backup does not include that. You will need to get the WP files again and your theme files, assuming they are corrupt. But try to salvage what you have.

    Finally, is it possible that maybe you installed a plugin that caused this messup or maybe you just changed something, so it is minor to fix without reinstalling anything?

      I don't know what happened. The site in my sig I just sold to flippa. Now I exported the sql and that's it, I am getting error... walmartgiftcardbalance.com. I did nothing but exported the sql file

        That wouldn't have happened due to your export of the DB. I recommend re-uploading all of the WP files. Do not re-install.

          The problem is I don't have the wordpress files, I just have the sql....
