Showcase/ Social Networking WebSite - Urgent

I am currently learning Web Development and I just accepted a job as a Web Person at a company in order to enable me learn more and also pay some of the bills.
I was given a projeect to handle which I thought I could at first but now I'm stuck.
The WebSite is supposed to be a portal to showcase various aspects of a town and also enable users share their own videos, Photos & experiences, also, the company would want to advertise its own events as well as let other companies list their businesses (for a fee).
The Homepage should be very engaging.
A lot of Emphasis is to be placed on the Look of the Site and also multimedia Content being Shared.
I started a sample using Joomla(which I'm comfortable with) & Community Builder.
but I don't really like How the Site's Coming up & also I have a few issues.
1) The Homepage is supposed to be full screen, no scrolling. While I can do this with HTML & CSS, I have no idea on How to do this with a Joomla Template.
2)Uploading & Sharing of Videos.
3)There Should bee an e-magazine(this type with page turning effects, etc)
4)The Event adverts on the homepage would bring up a pop-up when clicked to Give Details(rather than take users to a New Page).
5.)The companies that would be advertised should be in a kind of film reel which scrolls continously wut would stop wen hovered & bring up a pop-up also when clicked.


I'm currently having issues with the Details above and the time I have left is really short.
If someone could guide me on How to do this step-by-step or show me a link where it has been done before or even let me know if I'm going through the right path, I would be very grateful.
